“I’m so glad I made our pledge commitment and payment before I saw Dalynn Miller’s ‘Golden Days’ Reunion greeting. It was so moving that, had I not already made payment, I fear my rush of gratitude and good feeling would have led me to wipe out our life savings and send the balance to Stanford Fund!”
- Leslie Nichols (Stanford ‘63)
The Process:
- Research & Storytelling: Conducted interviews with Stanford alumni and current students to gather personal experiences and memories, shaping the song’s narrative.
- Composition & Arrangement: Wrote lyrics and composed piano accompaniment to reflect themes of nostalgia and connection.
- Production & Editing: Incorporated feedback, then performed, filmed, and edited the final song using Final Cut Pro X.
Impact:
- Golden Days was shared in Stanford alumni class Facebook groups to encourage reunion attendance.
- Featured on the Stanford Alumni Center Website, increasing visibility among the alumni network.
- Received direct emails from alumni expressing gratitude and emotional connection to the song.
