Every year, Stanford Alumni Association’s Homecoming Reunion invites Stanford alumni to return to campus for a weekend. I was tasked with writing a song encouraging alumni to attend the 2022 Homecoming Reunion Weekend. Because of this, I catered the project to an older audience.

How can nostalgia be used to bring people together?
Every year, Stanford Alumni Association’s Homecoming Reunion invites Stanford alumni to return to campus for a weekend. I was tasked with writing a song encouraging alumni to attend the 2022 Homecoming Reunion Weekend. Because of this, I catered the project to an older audience.

- Interviewed Stanford Alumni about their undergraduate experiences, as well as current Stanford students, to inform song’s content
- Composed lyrics and piano accompaniment for ‘Golden Days’
- Incorporated constructive feedback from my supervisor, finalized the lyrics, and performed, filmed, and edited the finished song in Final Cut Pro X
Impact:
- ‘Golden Days’ was sent to alumni classes’ Facebook groups to encourage reunion attendance
- Featured on Stanford Alumni Center Website
- Received multiple emails directly from alumni who expressed gratitude and emotional connection to the song
